2024 Amtrak City Council Hearings: In August 2024, our city councilman, James Torrence, introduced bills to allow the sale of city-owned property to Amtrak. We encourage all residents to attend future hearings and give testimony to our elected officials. Read about the bills here.
2023 Amtrak Solidarity Letter: On October 13th, 2023, with leadership from the Reservoir Hill Association (RHA), Residents Against the Tunnels (RATT), and Upper Eutaw-Madison Neighborhood Association (UEMNA), we asked Amtrak to respond to a set of basic questions about their plans to route the new B&P Tunnel through our neighborhood. Amtrak replied – but did not meaningfully answer our questions – on Thursday, November 9th.
Walk the Route -The B&P Tunnel: On November 4th, two dozen neighbors walked the route of the alignment through Reservoir Hill and Penn North, from Mount Royal Terrace to North Ave and Mount Street. Our biggest takeaway from this experience was that many residents remain unaware of the project, so we built a follow-up webpage with the information that we have on hand to share. Read more here.
